Embassy Guide: Cruising Guide Long Island Sound Embassy Guides are the perfect navigation companion for both planning your trip and when underway. They are filled with detailed navigation advice and are an enjoyable read to boot!. With the easy to use design you can find the information you need - fast. Harbors are indexed by chapters and marina and facility locations cross-reference quickly with harbor chart segments. Even the crush-proof spiral binding and wrap-around covers are designed to let you easily turn and bookmark pages. Since the writers and editors travel where they write you will benefit from their expert, local knowledge. This detailed navigation advice and GPS waypoints for major navigation aids and harbor entrance buoys will help you approach new harbors as if you are a local. Plus, you will feel as if you have been there before with full-color harbor chart segments that show marina approaches and display the locations of facilities in relationship to each other. Combined with birds-eye aerial photos of harbor entrances you will improve your situational awareness during approaches. The handy marine facilities tables display key information that allows you to find the “right” facility quickly. Because the tables cross-reference to harbor chart segments, you will locate the facility easily. Of course, there is more to cruising than the local boatyards. All Embassy guides feature beautiful pictures that highlight local landmarks and the vistas you may see while underway or at anchor. With 7 guides covering regions from Maine to Florida and the Bahamas, Maptech has the Embassy guide for you!
Customer Review: The best I’ve encountered so far
For Long Island Sound, this book is the best. The authors at Embassy (now part of Maptech) are based in Connecticut on Long Island sound, so it comes as no surprise that they produced the most comprehensive cruising guide to the area. I’m basing my opinion from other cruising guides from Dozier’s and Cruising Guide Publications and Embassy flat out wins for detail, pictures, history and overall readability (some of the reading is downright funny).
